THE THOLY
Le Tholy was born around the middle of the 16th century following a large migration from Alsace. Our ancestors found a valley covered with forests culminating at 892 meters, an ancient glacial site located between Gérardmer and Rremiremont, they settled at the entrance to this valley then called "La Basse de Fleury".
They established themselves as a Catholic parish on December 16, 1663 and built their church on the site chosen by Saint Pierre FOURIER, priest of Mattaincourt, at Chaud-Costet (the hot side), then in 1669 Charles IV, Duke of Lorraine, ordered the constitution of the "Ban de Saint Joseph" which would become the commune "Le Tholy" in 1791.
Le Tholy is a commune of 1536 inhabitants, one of the rare villages in the Vosges built on a hillside, which is what gives it all its charm. Ideally located in the valley of the lakes (a few kilometers from Gérardmer) the village has the Vosges peaks as its focal point, including Le Hohneck (1,363m).

GARNIER THIEBAUT FACTORY STORE
Garnier-Thiebaut tisse depuis 1833 les plus beaux damassés de coton au cœur des Vosges dans ses deux usines. Le magasin d’usine de Kichompré propose des fins de série et 2nd choix avec remise de -30% à -50% sur prix public. Le magasin d'usine Garnier-Thiebaut propose linge de table, nappes, serviettes, torchons, éponge, linge de lit…Déstockage de l’usine deux fois par an (fin octobre et fin décembre) avec des prix réduits jusqu’à moins 60 %.
Garnier-Thiebaut bénéficie en outre du label "Vosges Terre Textile", véritable garantie d’authenticité, de qualité et une origine certifiée.

THE STAINED GLASS WINDOWS OF THE CHURCH
L’église possède de très beaux vitraux réalisés dès 1947 par Gabriel LOIRE (moins de trois ans après leur destruction) qui sont inscrits avec l’église, depuis 2014, au titre des monuments historiques. Visites guidées, se renseigner auprès de l'office de tourisme.

ARTISANAL CHARCUTERIE
THE VOSGIEN GOURMET
Le Vosgien Gourmet is the shop of Charcuterie PIERRAT, approved since 2020 "Je Vois la Vie en Vosges Terroir". The shop has more than 500 references including a wide range of PIERRAT products (smoked, charcuterie, ham cooked in hay and fir and sausages in summer) many local products from farmers and artisans of our region (sweet and savory groceries, drinks, etc.).
From morning coffee to evening herbal tea, you can treat yourself only with local products. To discover our Vosges region, gourmet aperitifs are organized every day by reservation. Commented meals are also planned during school holidays.
