Le Tholy and the Hautes-Vosges massif are home to local know-how that has been recognized for centuries for some. It is therefore natural that our region is home to many museums and places where tradition is perpetuated.
THE CHAPEL
DU THOLY
The chapel was built in recognition of the Virgin for the protection given to the inhabitants during the German retreat and the liberation of 1944. On September 10, 1944, faced with the threat of the approaching conflict, the parishioners made a promise to "live more Christianly" and "to the extent that each family recognized itself as protected, it would make an offering intended to erect a monument to the Virgin which would become the center of a pilgrimage which would take place each year on the feast of the Nativity."

MINERALS MUSEUM
TERRAE GENESIS
Terrae Genesis is located on the edge of the Voie verte des Hautes Vosges, between Remiremont and Vagney, on a historic site linked to granite (the paving stones of Paris).
This museum of geology and mineralogy is a crossroads of knowledge and discoveries, where amateurs and professionals meet. It is composed of four departments: mineralogy, petrology (study of rocks), paleontology and the history of granite working.

Located at altitude in the heart of the Vosges mountains, in a region with a strong tourist vocation, which offers quality reception facilities, the Vosges Textile Museum in Ventron is a destination for a walk to discover the Vosges massif in a different way and welcomes you in all seasons.

During a visit, transform yourself into a giant and discover the exceptional reproductions of Alsatian and Lorraine heritage monuments including Place Stanislas, Strasbourg Cathedral, the castles of Lunéville and Epinal, or even the house of Joan of Arc, the abbey church of Remiremont, and of course the Napoleonic Baths of Plombières.

The Linvosges Gérardmer factory outlet offers the opportunity to find household linen items from the famous French and high-end brand at reduced prices. Generally, the discounts are around 30% on items from previous collections. However, there are larger discounts and half-price products: Linvosges Gérardmer also sells second-hand items.

Garnier-Thiebaut has been weaving the most beautiful cotton damasks in the heart of the Vosges since 1833 in its two factories. The Kichompré factory store offers end-of-line items and 2nd choice with discounts of -30% to -50% on public prices. The Garnier-Thiebaut factory store offers table linen, tablecloths, napkins, tea towels, sponges, bed linen, etc. Factory clearance sales twice a year (end of October and end of December) with prices reduced by up to 60%.

FOREST BLUE - VOSGES KNITTING
Bleu Forêt is a knitting factory that produces and sells socks, tights and leggings made from 100% French natural materials. The factory located in Vagney, about twenty minutes from Gérardmer, ensures 100% of the production of this Vosges brand whose success and reputation have been built on the choice of raw materials used for their creation, the quality of manufacturing, and the care given to the finishes.
The factory store allows you to buy a whole range of men's and women's socks, as well as tights and leggings, at direct manufacturer prices.

THE HAUTES-VOSGES CONFECTIONERY
La Confiserie des Hautes Vosges is a craft and family business established in Plainfaing since 1986. Renowned for its famous and authentic Vosges sweets including fir buds and Vosges resins, it handcrafts more than 35 types of sweets and welcomes more than 240,000 visitors per year. Cooked over an open fire in copper cauldrons, made as in the past with ancestral recipes, the sweets are flavored with essential oils and natural flavors before your eyes! A delight for the eyes but especially for the taste buds, La Confiseries des Hautes Vosges invites you to Plainfaing to visit its manufacturing workshops every day (except Sundays and public holidays) from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Buyer factory was founded in 1830 in Val-d'Ajol. Its history is written like that of a family adventure. Its core business consists of imagining, creating and manufacturing kitchen and pastry utensils for professionals in the food industry and fine dining.
