CIRCUIT 3
Saucéfaing-Cellet
Departure: Tourist Information Office, Multi-Activity House
Take the Petit Paradis road, at the first fork go up the Petit Tholy road on the left and follow it to the end, passing admire the beautifully renovated traditional farm built in 1621.
When you reach the 683 mark, continue straight on. At the next junction, turn left, pass the place called Rechaucourt and cross the D30. On the way, you can visit the Grangeotte above the Rucher, continuing you will arrive at the Pré d'Anis where a wooden toy workshop is set up. Take the path above the Bannerot, you will arrive at the Maison des artisans, during opening hours you can see a superb exhibition of objects and craft products that will make you want to buy the whole shop! Go down the tarmac road to the right, when you reach the horseshoe, turn left towards Tholy for 100 meters, then left again towards Bas-Beillard. When you reach the D417, follow it to the right for 10 meters then cross the road on your left. Admire the beautiful view you have over the village of Tholy, the summit of Hohneck and the ski slopes of Mauselaine.
Head towards Cellet, which was the filming site for the movie "Les Grandes Gueules", this is where the "Haut Fer" was located, the sawmill that ran on a water wheel, and which was burned down at the end of the film. Turn right and go down towards the sand quarry. On this section of the path, you can often see deer. At the quarry, be very careful, heavy goods vehicles cross your path! Turn right and continue to the Goutte des Fromages path.
After the first houses, go up to the left at the first fork, 200 meters higher, turn left again and 50 meters further on to the right in the path which is not tarmacked. From there you have a superb view of the Tholy and the Rain Brice. At the end of the path, you come to the road of the Goutte Villemin, follow it to the left for 300 meters and turn off into the grassy path on the right. Be careful not to miss it.
When you arrive at La Basse, follow the tarmac road which turns to the right and take the path which runs alongside La Cleurie on your left, cross the iron footbridge and go up onto the D417, cross it and take almost opposite the road to Petit Paradis which takes you back to your starting point.
