CIRCUIT 6

The Badger Trail

The Blaireau trail was created in 1993 by ASPET (Association for the Preservation of the Heritage and Environment of Tholy) under the advice of the Conservatoire des Sites Lorrains. In 1994/1995, students from the Centre du Tholy school participated in the writing of an accompanying brochure.

Departure: Bouvacôte car park

Leave your car in the car park and you're immediately on your way. Go up the path, the circuit goes straight up.

1. At the bench, before the orientation table. you have a very pretty view of the village of Le Tholy. Take the opportunity to rest a little and listen to the silence of nature, interrupted only by the song of the birds, the rustling of the leaves and the bells of the herd of the farm of the "four winds". From the orientation table, on a clear day, you can see the hill of Sion so dear to the heart of Maurice Barrès.

2. Continue uphill along the park to Badger Rock. Pass the three chicanes between the two parks and go along the one on the left.

3. You are now at an altitude of 813m, as the sign indicates. Soon the path will go down again, you have arrived at the crow's foot, take the path on the left, and walk quietly in the shade of the undergrowth. When you arrive in front of a meadow, turn right and go along the ruin of the farm. When you come out of the woods, turn right and join the road of the cherry tree lawn which you will follow to the left for 400m. And here you are at your starting point.
